How to Care
Wash only when needed using a gentle, cold machine cycle and a colour-safe detergent. Turn garments inside out and fasten zips to reduce friction, and avoid fabric softeners to help preserve colour and finish.
After washing, gently reshape while damp and lay flat or hang to dry in the shade. Use a cool iron if required to restore the garment’s shape.
We recommend washing separately before first wear to remove any excess dye. Always follow the care label instructions, wash lights and darks separately, and use laundry bags for delicate pieces.
Choosing cold washes, low-spin cycles and eco-conscious detergents helps minimise environmental impact. Take extra care with woven and knit garments to maintain their structure and longevity.
Air drying is recommended for all Fleur Collective garments to help preserve fabric quality, colour and shape over time. Hang garments indoors or outdoors away from direct sunlight to minimise fading and protect the integrity of the fabric.
Place pegs in discreet areas, such as underarms or belt loops, to avoid marking. Where possible, avoid tumble drying, as high heat can be harsh on fibres, contribute to shrinkage and increase energy consumption.
Always refer to the care label for each individual garment to ensure the best results.
Steaming: An effortless way to refresh garments between wears. They help release odours and bacteria while allowing fibres to relax, reducing the need for frequent washing. Steaming your Fleur Collective woven garments will help to smooth any creases without the risk of over-pressing.
Ironing: For a more structured finish, use a cool iron to restore shape and remove wrinkles on your Fleur Collective garments. Always iron on the reverse side to protect the fabric.
Proper storage is essential to extending the life of your Fleur Collective wardrobe. Tailored pieces such as jackets, coats, blazers, trousers and structured skirts are best stored on quality hangers that support the shoulders and maintain their shape.
More fluid styles can be hung or neatly folded in a dry space, with their crease-resistant fabrication ensuring they’re ready to wear whenever you are.
Ensure storage areas are cool and dry as the seasons change.
Pilling is a natural occurrence, particularly in garments made from loosely spun yarns and fibres such as wool and some plant-based fibres. Friction from wear and washing can cause small pills to form over time, but these can be easily removed to restore a smooth, refined finish.
To de-pill, first test your tool on an inconspicuous area to ensure it won’t damage the fabric. Lay the garment flat on a clean surface and gently glide a sweater comb or de-piller over the fabric in one direction using light, short strokes. Avoid applying too much pressure, and repeat as needed until the surface appears refreshed. Take extra care when working around delicate areas or finer knits.
